Artist's Description
Dimensions 16” x 24”, this very abstract painting is of a scenic view of a seaside village through a stone window. Warm sunshine spills through the rough-hewn stone frame. Tightly woven buildings create a harmony of angles and shapes in vanilla, golden-peach and almond tones. My inspiration came from Dawid Zawila’s photo on unsplash.com.
About Marilyn Borne
Since I was a kid, I loved to draw and paint. As an adult, my career has been in graphics, illustration, and publishing, using computers and technology, but creating with traditional medium was always the "go to." My painting style is a mix of abstract and realism using acrylics. Some of my photographic work were created from microscopic images, experimentation is always an adventure. I've always admired John Singer Sargent and Andrew Wyeth's works, also the Dutch Masters. Both digital and traditional mediums have their place in expressing beauty and in communicating our hearts. I currently teach art at a local school and enjoy passing on a love for all things beautiful as expressed in various mediums. I believe art is therapeutic to both...
